Welcome to the Dream Job blog

We all have a set of skills and abilities. We're all good at something and may even excel at it. But do we truly enjoy it? Is it our passion? Does it use our gifts?

Using your gifts is what finding your dream job is all about. Most people fail to understand that our greatest power comes from doing what we love while our deepest unhappiness stems from denying our passions.

Stop focusing on what you can do. Instead focus on unleashing your innate gifts through meaningful work you love to do. I encourage you to take the first step in defining and landing your dream job, and I'd like to help.

I'm Joel Garfinkle, the Dream Job Coach, and I created this blog as a companion to my Dream Job Coaching site to help people like you stop the struggle and find the job you were meant to do. I hope you'll visit often, as I'll be adding lots of information, encouragement, and inspiration to the Dream Job blog.

I know you have stressed that concerns about the economy should not be allowed to sink the pursuit of meaningful work. But isn't the severity of the economic crisis different this time.

Some people are saying this is the worst economic crisis since 1929. I have lost my fulltime job. I am no longer young and the work I was pursuing did not pay enough. I need to make more income and I feel that this must come before consideration of fullfilment. My last job was supposed to be fulfilling but I have found that factors like one's boss and one's skills and the pay rate in an industry also affect happiness.
